Meet the Staff

Linda Sellers - Church Secretary

Linda has been Church Secretary since August, 1985. She is originally from Kings Mountain, NC, and is a graduate of NC Wesleyan College. She and her husband, Danny, have been members of First Baptist since 1974 and are active in many ministries of the church. They have two sons, Jason and Ethan.
 

Margaret Pleasants - Pastor's Secretary

Margaret grew up in Wake Forest, NC, and after completing business college was involved in a wide range of employment experiences. She worked at NC Department of Revenue, Central Carolina Bank, the NCSU Department of Entomology, Agronocon, Inc., and First Baptist Church, Ahoskie. Margaret joined the FBC Goldsboro staff in 1990 and is very active in the Seekers Sunday School Class. She and husband, Bob, do community volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity. They have two married children.
 
Laura Guthrie - Financial Secretary

Laura started work at First Baptist Church in May, 1997. She grew up in Kinston, and graduated from Lenoir Community College with an AS and an AA. Laura continued her education at NCSU and graduated with a BA in Accounting in 1991.
 

Diane Coutts - Food Services Manager

  Diane is our  Food Service Manager. She will plan, coordinate and provide our Wednesday Family Night meals and other church social functions. Diane and her husband, Bob, have three children, Melissa, Robbie, and Linley.

Sonya Strouse - Day Care Director

Sonya has 20 years of experience in the child care profession.  She has a degree in Music Education from Chowan College.  An Associates in Arts Degree from Wayne Community College in Human Services/Child Development.  She has studied Child Development/Family Relations at East Carolina University and participated in the Head Start Johnson and Johnson Management Fellows Program at UCLA.  Sonya also has her N.C. Child Care Administrative Credentials I and II.  Sonya is the daughter of a pastor and is married to a bi-vocational pastor, Joe.  Together they have one son.
 
Director of Children's Ministries and Day Camp

Gayle Justice is our Director of Children's Ministries and Day Camp.  Gayle has an undergraduate degree in nutrition from Ohio University and her certificate in Children's Ministries from Campbell University.  Her family includes husband Tom, and two children, Erin and Andrew.
