About First Baptist First Baptist Church is a congregation of free and faithful Baptists. Begun in 1843, we are the oldest congregation in Goldsboro. We are mission-minded, lay-led, and Christ-centered. We believe in salvation by grace, the
priesthood of all believers, t We are affiliated nationally with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship; in North Carolina with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina and the State Baptist Convention of North Carolina; and locally with the Neuse Baptist Association. We are also involved with Ecumenical Downtown Goldsboro Churches (CLIFF), and the United Church Ministries of Goldsboro. The Mission of First Baptist Church is: -to be dependent on God's leadership, to grow in faith in Jesus Christ as Lord through worship, Bible study, prayer, and fellowship, and to witness to each other and to the larger community.
